PROGRAMS IN ACTION
What Will She Become: Lagos Pilot
What Will She Become became the foundation for Gift to Dream’s first large-scale school initiative in Lagos, Nigeria. Through the leadership and facilitation of filmmaker Oluwapelumi Abdulsalam and local implementation partners, the program reached more than 3,000 students across 20 secondary schools with conversations around education, reproductive health, mentorship, STEM exposure, and future pathways. Gift to Dream supported and funded the pilot as an early proof of concept for scalable, partnership-driven impact.
Film Screening
Students participated in screenings of What Will She Become, followed by facilitated conversations on confidence, relationships, reproductive health, consent, and life choices.
Safe-Space Conversations
Facilitated dialogue around teen pregnancy, consent, gender norms, and safety.
Mentorship
Relational support and encouragement for participants.
STEM & Career Exploration
Students were introduced to STEM pathways and future career opportunities through interactive learning and exposure to emerging industries.
Community Based Partnership - Delivery
The program was implemented through collaboration with schools, local facilitators, advocacy organizations, and community stakeholders to ensure culturally responsive impact.
Health Education
Students received educational materials and resources supporting reproductive health awareness, informed decision-making, and continued learning.
Film screenings cultivate awareness and connection, allowing participants to engage deeply with relevant issues — fostering empathy and understanding while inspiring action toward educational and gender-based challenges.

This includes student scholarships and certifications, STEM education, mentorship initiatives, healthcare outreach and screenings, educational materials, community engagement, monitoring and evaluation, and the partnerships required to ensure measurable outcomes for participants.

Sustainable impact requires sustainable funding. Investments in fundraising allow us to secure future resources, expand partnerships, attract institutional support, cultivate donors, host awareness and fundraising events, and develop the infrastructure needed to scale programs responsibly. These efforts help multiply every dollar invested by generating future support for the communities we serve.
